In late 2004, UIP finalized an exclusive arrangement with Netherlands-based Bouwfonds Asset Management, a subsidiary of ABN/AMRO, to source investment opportunities in major East Coast markets. UIP’s first acquisition in partnership with Bouwfonds comprised over 1,000 rental apartments in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Under UIP’s advisement, Bouwfonds is seeking additional East Coast investment opportunities in commercial and residential real estate. Through its exclusive arrangement with Bouwfonds, UIP is poised to expand its real estate investment portfolio into promising East Coast markets and across a wider range of product lines.
