Matthew Crossley is Vice President of Acquisitions for UIP, in which role he oversees the acquisitions process including underwriting transactions and closing investments for the company. Matthew is responsible for analyzing and closing core, value-add and opportunistic investment opportunities for UIP and is involved in sourcing and capitalizing investments.
Prior to joining UIP, Matthew was Co-founder and Managing Partner at Carson Klinger, LLC, and investment platform that focused on investing in value-add multifamily and mixed-use properties in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States. He oversaw the company’s acquisitions process, debt and equity fundraising, and investor relations and was a member of the firm’s investment committee. Before co-founding Carson Klinger, Mr. Crossley spent 7 years raising debt and equity for commercial real estate investors and developers with the capital markets and investment banking teams of JLL, Newmark Knight Frank and MAC Realty Advisors. During his tenure, Mr. Crossley was directly involved with the financing of $1.8 billion of debt and equity financings with a primary focus on multifamily housing and mixed-use assets in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States.
Mr. Crossley currently serves an adjunct faculty member of Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies where he teaches classes focused on Real Estate Private Equity, Structured Finance and Real Estate Investments and acts as a Capstone Advisor in the Master’s in Real Estate Program. Mr. Crossley obtained his Masters in Real Estate from Georgetown University and has a BA in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
